Dr. Heide Friedrich, Lecturer at University of Auckland. We have an ongoing cooperation on the quantification near wall turbulence and flow field. We are using artificial gravel beds to guarantee reproducible hydraulic conditions and flow fields.
Prof. Thorsten Stösser, Professor of Computational Hydro-environmental Engineering, Leader Institute of Environment and Sustainability, Cardiff University. With Prof. Stösser we cooparate on Large eddy simulations (LES). He is a well known expert on numerical modeling and enironmental fluid dynamics. At present we are working on a paper were we want to present the results of a LES computation of flow over different longitudinal roughness stripes. Recently we modeled the flow in a meandering channel with smooth side walls, and compared the LES results with results of a CFD code using the Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes equations.
Assistant Prof. Sandor Baranya, Department of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering, Budapest University of Engineering and Economics. Sandor Baranyi is very active in the field of applied numerical modeling and advanced flow measuremnts. We cooperate on the topic of numerical modeling of armor layer formation and on a project on the flood safety of the river Danube at Esztergom.
Dr. Ingo Schnauder, former researcher at the Leibnitz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, is now lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Berlin. We cooperate on numerical modeling of flow in meander bends.
Dr. Massimo Guerrero, Head of Hydraulic Laboratory, Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Bologna University. Dr. Guerrero is a leading expert onaccoustic doppler measurement techniques. He recently has been very active in the EU-Project CLARIS, where he measured the sediment transport by accoustic means. We are cooperating with him on measuring suspended load concentration in hydro power reservoirs.

Dr.-Ing. R. Kopmann, Bundesanstalt für Wasserbau, Department of Hydraulic Engineering in Inland Areas; Section W1 – River Systems I. Rebekka Kopman is an expert on 1D numerical modeling of sediment transport. We exchange knowledge on numerical modeling in general on all scales.
